BIG HOUSE BLUES BAND'S DEBUT CD GAINING A FOOTHOLD



SEPTEMBER 7, 2006 (MUSKEGON, MI) -- Muskegon's own "Big House Blues Band" is gaining momentum with their first studio CD of classic blues and blues-rock music titled "We Knew Them When...". The CD was issued this past summer on the indie label imprint Vinyl Wall Records (www.vinylwall.com). The group's debut effort is gaining a foothold on the airwaves.


CKIA-FM in Quebec, Canada was the first to air a track from the album on June 2 during Mike Rochette's "10,000 Blues" program prior to the CD's official release (which was on July 4). Additionally, WGVU (88.5 & 95.3 FM) radio's Greg Blueben has embraced the compilation, featuring tracks from it frequently on his "Saturday Night Blues" program, which airs in the West Michigan area on Saturday evenings beginning at 7:00 p.m. Radio stations in Argentina, Brazil, France and Belgium have also requested and received copies of the CD.


"We Knew Them When..." contains cover versions of well-known classics by such greats as Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Junior Wells and others. They've even included a couple of nods to the Blues Brothers! BHBB (as they've become known) also pays tribute to the Spencer Davis Group, the Beatles, ZZ Top, Johnny Winter, Aretha Franklin, Joss Stone, Wilson Pickett, Curtis Mayfield and [to kick it up a notch] Rick Derringer! The CD also contains an original composition, "That's Who I Am", written by two of BHBB's members, Big Daddy and Jimi Ray.

The Big House Blues Band is comprised of a combination of highly talented musicians serving a blend of classic blues and blues-rock.
