May 22, 2010 - MI Music Farm - Season Opener! Saturday - May 22, 2010 - 7:30 PM ADMISSION: $10 donation at the door (click on the poster for a full size version) ...appearing for the season opener live at MI Music Farm will be The Big House Blues Band. This is a huge 9-piece blues band. What a deal :) Saturday night shows run 3 hours from 7:30 – 10:30pm. The gates open 1 hour before the show. This is super for the folks who...for what ever reason...don't want to go to bars and or wait until 9 or 10pm for the band to start. Fans must be at least 21 years of age to enter. People ARE allowed to bring coolers with food and beverages (alcohol OK for the behaved :) to the show. There’ll be bottled water and pop/soda available too. Motorcycles are welcome, but realize it's pasture parking...you might need something for the kickstand.
BLUES and LIVE MUSIC lovers come for the performance... ANIMAL LOVERS come to help raise $ for area animal shelters. OVER-ACHIEVERS come for both :) If you're not already familiar with MI Music Farm please check out: http://www.myspace.com/mimusicfarm. It's cool inside...the seats inside the barn are straw bales covered with denim. 2 people share 1 bale of hay. Your $5 entry ticket is also good for one free drink! There will be food available from the kitchen and drink prices are very reasonable. So when all you Kats and Kitties get enough of Christmas parties and shopping, dig out your dancin' shoes and come join us. Sherman Banquet Room is located at 1531 W. Sherman Blvd. in Muskegon. The banquet room is located on the East side of the bowling lanes. For those of you who have not been there, this is a very nice room. Hope to see you there.
Saturday - October 10, 2009 - 7:00 PM ADMISSION: FREE (click on the poster for a full size version) The Big House Blues Band will headline the Saturday music event at the "5th Annual Depot Days Festival 2009" in downtown Standish. The festival itself runs from 9:00 am on Saturday, October 10 through 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 11. Some of the most popular parts of the Depot Days Festival have been the historic depot with its railroad artifacts, the vintage rail car display, a carnival hosted by Schmidts Amusements, a variety of vendors and musical performances by various artists and groups.

(click on the poster for a full size version) Killer Blues presents their 4th White Lake Blues Festival on September 18, 2009, at The Howmet Playhouse in Whitehall, MI. Headlining will be West Michigan's own Big House Blues Band, and will feature special guests RB & Company (another West Michigan Favorite), and Washboard Jo (all the way from Kansas City, Missouri). This show will be a benefit to raise money for the purchase of a headstone for Washboard Sam, aka: Robert Brown. Michigan Beer will be sold and there will be Memphis Style Southern BBQ available from "Pistol Pete's Pit", so come early for dinner before the show! Seating is limited, so get your tickets early! The historic Howmet Playhouse first opened in 1916. From the Killer Blues website: "Killer Blues is dedicated to preserving the legacies of the great blues men and women by raising funds to purchase headstones for those artists who through circumstance, or poverty, were buried in unmarked graves."

Location: CLICK HERE FOR A MAP TO THE PARK The Big House Blues Band will be playing at the McGraft Park Summer Concert Series open-air amphitheater on August 11, 2009!
This is an outdoor event so bring your lawn chairs. (In case of rain the concerts are held inside the community center.)
The Park has a play apparatus, softball diamond, lighted tennis courts, and a frisbee golf course. The community building is available for reservations. It has a stage area, kitchen, table and chairs for seating of 100 persons. Restrooms are also available. The park is set within an area of rolling terrain traversed by Ruddiman Creek, approximately 45 acres have been developed for intense active recreation uses. The remaining park area has been reserved in its naturalistic setting providing passive recreation enjoyment. A wide variety of flora and fauna can be found throughout the park varying from wet lowland to dry highland species. The park fits well into the residential surroundings.
